Not all hair transplants are the same.
The techniques for treating thinning or advanced hair loss patients have undergone radical changes in the past few years. Our patients with thinning or advanced hair loss, are treated with the latest combined techniques to help restore density of hair, plus naturalness, so the hair does not appear to either be thinning or to have the old transplant look from antiquated medical restoration techniques. The new combination method utilizing single hair grafts, and follicular units which helps us achieve a better restoration of hair for both men and women, with little to advanced loss of hair.
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is a hair
restoration procedure where hair is transplanted one
graft at a time in its naturally occurring groups of
1-4 hairs. FUT strives to be what hair naturally
occurred in nature. The two harvesting techniques which use FUT are strip harvesting technique and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
The FUT method involves the removal of a thin strip of hair from the back and/or sides of the scalp. The area where the strip was cut from is then sew together to close up the gap. The hair above the incision covers up the suture, therefore, it is not visible. From the donor strip, the hair grafts are dissected. The dissection takes place under a special dissecting microscope, the individual follicular units, may consist of one to four hairs and are carefully dissected into tiny grafts. Once these grafts are dissected, they are ready for placement in the recipient bald or thinning scalp area.
Our doctor is a FUE specialist and we are among the few specialists in FUE in California. The FUE procedure is one of the newest methods in hair transplantation. This procedure is sometimes referred to as “the no visible scar” hair restoration. Instead of removing a single strip of hair, a 1 millimeter in length of hair is shaved. Using a special FUE tool, a small circular incision is created around each individual follicular unit. The follicular units are then extracted, one-by-one, from the shaved area and directly transplanted to the bald areas. Full yield from the donor hair depends on the special follicular unit extraction tools being used. With the FUE procedure, small wounds are visible due to the area being shaved. Because the wounds are so small, they are left open. The wound will heal on its own in about one week and the hair will grow back. Our successful procedures help men suffering from the devastating effects of hair loss. We offer our clients a completely natural hairline and look.
In the past, the front hairline of hair restorations could be harsh and unnatural looking. MHTA's has developed specific techniques and a especially designed tool for greater efficiency and does not destroy hair follicles. We stand out above others in our field because of our specialty in FUE. Our procedure offers the state of the art, softest, most natural front hairline ever developed. [read more]
